Information about scientific group:

Numerical modeling of electromagnetic fields in technical and medical applications. The team has advanced numerical modeling software (eg. COMSOL, Matlab), computing cluster, and a considerable amount of self-developed numerical tools based on the latest developments.

The team has experience in modeling the electromagnetic fields as well as in the use of advanced, modern computing tools.

Group of lightning protection +

Information about scientific group:

The group deals with the subject of lightning protection and correlated area namely electromagnetic compatibility as well as particular issues of electronic and electrical apparatus security. Research interests include and are not limited to: risk management, protection measures selection, protection measures installations, laboratory tests, computer simulations and individual investigation of lightning danger.

The team is engaged in the processing, analysis and classification of EEG signals. Research areas include brain-computer interfaces (BCI), emotion analysis based on ERPs and location of sources inside the brain (inverse problem).

* Neural networks - numerical algorithms for efficient training of artificial neural networks: supervised (MLP, RBF) and self-organizing competitive networks.

 * Neurofuzzy networks: - learning algorithms: supervised (TSK) and fuzzy clustering networks, practical applications of neurofuzzy systems.

 * Hybrid neural networks - the self-organizing subnetwork connected with MLP.

 * Support Vector Machine networks - learning aspects and applications

 * Applications aspects of neural and neurofuzzy networks - general problems of approximation, classification, prediction, identification.

 * Practical use of neural networks - load forecasting in power systems, fault location in electrical and power systems, pattern recognition in biomedical applications (ECG, EEG, tremor, human cell recognition), artificial nose application,
