The winner of this year&#8217;s edition was <strong>Krzysztof Zagrajek, a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology<\/strong>. He received the main prize for his master&#8217;s thesis entitled: <strong>&#8220;Development of electromobility in public transport on the example of the Warsaw urban agglomeration&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The competition was announced in August 2018. Graduates of the master&#8217;s studies at Polish public technical universities in the fields of electroenergetics, electrical engineering or related fields &#8211; such as automation and robotics, electronics, telecommunications, IT, mechatronics, and energy &#8211; could have applied for it. <strong>The theme of this edition of the competition was: &#8220;Intelligent power grids &#8211; development and operation&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The work of Krzysztof Zagrajka has been appreciated for its practical nature. In the jury&#8217;s opinion, the conclusions flowing from it may have potential application in industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The work is interesting because it touches the topic, which is now very timely. Due to the development of electromobility, public transport is facing a real revolution in the near future. And energy companies will be part of this process. The winning work may be used in the perspective of these activities when creating a methodology of conduct when checking the impact of electric bus charging systems on the operation of the distribution network &#8211; summarized the results of the competition Robert Zasina, president of TAURON Dystrybucja.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the competition presented the results of his analytical work and measurements during the meeting of the Scientific Council, which operates at TAURON Dystrybucja, supporting the development and research activities of the company. After the presentation and a series of questions Zagrajek received a cash prize of 10 thousand. zlotys and commemorative diploma.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The motivation to participate in the competition was to check whether the diploma thesis, and in particular the research done by me within a few months, is a substantial value enough to be used in practice &#8211; said Krzysztof Zagrajek.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the competition also emphasized that at present he is still concentrating on scientific work in the field of electric power engineering, namely further research on electromobility, intelligent power grids and energy clusters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Krzysztof Zagrajek is currently a PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h6><em>Source and photo: TAURON Polska Energia SA<\/em><\/h6>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The competition was organized for the fifth time by TAURON Dystrybucja.
