From 16 to 28 March 2026, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology will host the international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP2026) entitled “Renewable, Autonomous, and Sustainable Power and Transport Systems”. The programme is organised in cooperation with partner universities: Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Artois University – IUT de Béthune (France), University of Craiova (Romania) and Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania). The event will bring together approximately 60 students and academic staff representing universities from the above-mentioned European countries.
The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is a modern form of education within the Erasmus+ programme, based on short-term international mobility combined with an intensive teaching programme delivered in a blended format (including both online and on-site components). During the programme, students and lecturers from partner universities will take part in lectures, workshops, experimental sessions, project activities and meetings dedicated to solving engineering problems. The programme covers topics such as the integration of renewable energy sources in power systems, modelling and simulation of processes in energy and transport systems, as well as experimental research using modern technologies such as photovoltaic panels, hydrogen fuel cells and energy storage systems.
One of the main objectives of the programme is to support the academic development of students and the acquisition of practical competences in modern power and transport systems. Particular emphasis is placed on working in international and interdisciplinary project teams, developing the ability to carry out research and development projects, critical thinking and presenting the results of team work. Participants will work on joint projects, the outcomes of which will be presented during the final presentations and closing session of the programme.
An important element of the programme is also its intercultural dimension. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the culture and history of Poland and Warsaw, as well as visit selected scientific and cultural institutions. The programme includes visits to Warsaw museums and science-popularisation institutions, enabling participants to better understand the cultural and scientific heritage of the Polish capital.
The BIP2026 programme fosters the development of international academic contacts, the exchange of experiences between partner universities, and encourages students to pursue further academic and professional development.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, and the team of the Warsaw City Hall for granting honorary patronage to the event and for supporting educational and international initiatives as well as activities promoting science and culture.
