Subject: Workaround for Resizing "rootvg" Disks Located on VIO Server

Audience: All

Date: April 2, 2007

The March 2007 Issue of the IBM Systems Magazine has a workaround that allows you to "dynamically expand rootvg" disks located on mirrored VIO servers. The workaround is needed because the command "chvg -g rootvg" on the client does not pick up the LV size change on the VIO server ("extentlv").

The IBM Systems Magazine is located at http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/ME2/Default.asp Search for "Dynamically expand rootvg", or the March 2007 issue of the magazine.

Thanks to Steve Pittman for suggesting this tip.
